Ireland Beta

Working in the Irish health service?

There's a version of WageTally built around HSE pay: your grade and pay point taken from the published salary scales, and night duty, twilight, Saturday and Sunday premiums worked out from the hours you actually rostered. It isn't on the Irish App Store — it's a TestFlight beta, and we're looking for nurses and midwives to test it against their own payslips.

HOW IT WORKS

Three steps to your expected gross pay.

  1. 1

    Set your rates

Enter your hourly rate, your weekly overtime threshold, and any night, weekend, or holiday differentials. Add role premiums like charge, preceptor, or float — once, per workplace.

  2. 2

    Add your shifts

Tap shifts onto the calendar as you're scheduled — or as you work them. Each one picks up your rates and differentials automatically.

  3. 3

    Compare with your paycheck

WageTally totals every shift in the pay period into one expected gross figure. Hold it against your real paycheck and see if the numbers agree.

FREQUENTLY ASKED

Questions people ask before downloading.

What is WageTally?

WageTally is an iOS app that helps hourly workers track their shifts and calculate their expected gross pay — including overtime, differentials, and role premiums. You enter your shifts and rates, and WageTally does the math so you can compare your expected pay against your actual paycheck.

Does WageTally calculate my taxes or take-home pay?

No. WageTally calculates gross pay only — the total you earn before taxes, deductions, or other withholdings. It does not calculate taxes, net/take-home pay, or anything related to payroll withholding.

Where is my data stored?

All your data — shifts, rates, workplaces, differentials, and role premiums — is stored locally on your iPhone only. It is never transmitted to a server, cloud, or third party.

How is overtime calculated?

WageTally calculates weekly overtime based on a threshold you set (default 40 hours per week). Hours worked beyond that threshold in a week are classified as overtime. WageTally does not calculate daily overtime.

Does WageTally tell me if I was underpaid?

WageTally shows you the difference between your expected gross pay and your actual paycheck. It does not provide legal advice or determine whether you were actually underpaid — always verify with your employer or payroll department.

Does WageTally work on Android?

No. WageTally is an iOS app and requires an iPhone with iOS 17 or later.
